Deacon Ministry
In accordance with the meaning of the word “Deacon”, a Deacon is a servant of the church. The Deacon body shall serve under the leadership of the Pastor and assist him in ministering to the church in order to free him for prayer and Bible study. The Deacons will support and work with the Pastor in the following ways:
- To lead the church to achieve its stated purpose;
- To share the gospel with believers and unbelievers;
- To care for the church members and others in the community;
- To assist the Pastor in administering the ordinances of baptism and Lord’s Supper;
- To be an example in stewardship by committing at least a tithe in support of the ministries of the church;
- To be an example in fulfilling the Great Commission through faithful visitation;
- To regularly attend all church services and assist those making commitments to Christ;
- To regularly attend monthly Deacon’s meetings;
- To visit the sick, needy, widows and indifferent church members;
- To encourage and strengthen new converts and the spiritually weak.
