Worship Orchestra

The Worship Orchestra is the premiere orchestra at Westside Baptist Church. It has now been ministering in Jacksonville for 30 years. We minister in the community and around the world through special concerts, seasonal presentations and other ministry opportunities. We believe that God has called each of us to be servants of the gospel through the use of our “tool” of instrumental music. This group is not for the volunteer but for the servant of the Lord that seeks to touch lives and work hard.

Membership requirements:

Adult musicians and advanced high school students (11th-12th),
After at least one semester of University Orchestra as space permits
12 major and minor scales from memory is a goal for every member
At home practice and lessons are strongly encouraged for musical development
A member should strive to maintain a faithful attendance and stay connected

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM in our Instrumental Rehearsal Room. We also meet Sunday mornings at 8:20 AM in the Worship Center to prepare for the services. The orchestra co-leads with our Worship Choir in our morning and evening services.
